Bolehland!

When I was in Primary 6, the teachers encouraged us to subscribe to the Star Newspaper from the school. Retail price was RM1.20 and we got ours for about RM0.80 or so. It was to cultivate a reading habit among us primary school kids. So every day we'd get our copy and guess what was the first thing most of us did?

That's right! We'd turn to the comic section! Haha. Somehow most of us were faithful readers of that column. It was something that appealed to us kids. They say, "Old habits die hard." Up till today, comics still have a place in my heart!

Bolehland.com is a place where two guys express their epic journey in Malaysia and I'm proud to actually know one of them! Dankhoo... One of those from my primary school days (a.k.a. the Star Newspaper comic days).

If you're one of those who have a particular interest in the lifestyle and issues in Malaysia, what better way to read about them than in the form of a comic strip. Click on the strip below to visit their website :)

Happy Valentine's Day

Sonnet 18
By William Shakespeare

For those of us who studied literature or who have read Shakespeare,
we would have learned that Sonnet 18 is one of the most memorable love poems.
The poet loved his lover so much that he wanted her beauty to remain eternal.
Every time someone reads this poem, his lover's beauty lives again.
His creativity has set his love for her in stone.

To those of you who celebrate this day with your loved one,
may you have a great time expressing love & appreciation to one another.
May you learn to love like our great poet did!

To those who have not found that someone special, don't fret!
Keep hoping and dreaming for that prince charming to ride on his white horse to rescue you.
Or, keep looking out for that damsel in distress who's yearning for you to be her hero.

There's much to learn about love!

p/s: This post is also  a tribute the late Prof. Lim Chee Seng from UM who taught us Shakespeare with full passion and related to us the works of this great writer in ways that brought the writer and us closer thus kindling within us a love for his works.
